Cosmic Ascent — last updated 10 August 2026
Cosmic Ascent has no accounts, no analytics, and does not track you across other apps. The free version shows ads between runs through Google's AdMob service, which is the only thing in the app that talks to the internet — and a one-time purchase removes it entirely. The developer never sees who you are or how you play.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. To serve an ad and measure that it was shown, Google receives standard ad-request data from your device: a device identifier, your IP address (which implies an approximate, city-level location), and basic information about the ad interaction itself. This is the usual mechanics of mobile advertising, not something the developer collects — that data goes to Google under Google's privacy policy.
Deliberate limits built into the app:
— The app never asks for permission to track. It contains no App Tracking
Transparency prompt, does not access the advertising identifier for cross-app tracking, and ads
are contextual rather than built on a profile of you.
— Ad content is capped at a General Audiences rating.
— In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google's
consent form before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice at any time under
Remove Ads → Ad Privacy Options in the game.
Buying Remove Ads is processed entirely by Apple. The app never sees your payment details; it only records that the purchase exists, and after that no ad request is ever made again. The purchase follows your Apple Account — reinstall or switch devices and Restore Purchase brings it back at no charge.
Your progress — campaign saves, ascension points, records, unlocked codex entries and your sound, music and haptics settings — is written to your device's own local storage. Deleting the app removes all of it.
If iCloud is enabled for Cosmic Ascent in your device settings, that same progress record is mirrored through your own iCloud account so it follows you between your devices. It is stored under your Apple Account, governed by Apple's privacy policy, and the developer has no access to it.
After a campaign victory the game may ask Apple to show the standard "rate this app" panel. The panel is presented by the operating system; anything you write goes to the App Store, and the game is not told whether you rated it or what you said.
The game is rated 4+ but is not directed specifically at children. It collects nothing itself; ad content is capped at General Audiences, and in consent regions ads only appear after Google's consent flow.
If a future version changes what the app stores or sends, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
